Since many years had passed, a magician named Clow Reed is one of the powerful magicians that time, posseses mystical powers. He created 52 cards reperesents the forces of master possibly named as Clow Cards. Since they were powerful enough that it can destroy the world, he then creates that can seal these cards called the Clow Book.
Clow Reed also created two mythical creatures named Keroberos and Yue which will take part of the cards. Keroberos represents as the Gurdian Beast of the Seal and Yue represents as the Judge of the Cards. The three are living in a peaceful and quiet place. Even Keroberos and Yue are amazed.
But later on, Clow Reed told the two that he gonna die soon enough. The two cannot believe that this situations will come. Moreover, he also told that they must elect a new master who will take care of these cards. As time goes, Clow Reed died and the two cannot do nothing without it. After those things happened, the two guardians put themselves on the book.
30 years had passed and a man named Fujitaka Kinomoto, an Archeologist and a University Professor found the book while on his excavacation searching for artifacts. He brought the book along with him which may be something worth of. He added this on to his library collection after he arrived.
Because of his curiosity, he intends to open the book wandering what's inside on it. He try some things to open the book but it all backfires. It was told by Clow Reed that only a new mistress can open the book as he predicted during the time he was living. Running out of ideas, he decided to keep this book instead of wasting time on it.
This tells why the book came to the Kinomoto Residence. The story continues...

The overview of the anime itself
A girl named Sakura Kinomoto is a 9-year old 4th grader at Tomoeda University. Arriving after school, she felt something unusual around their house while preparing for her afternoon snack. From that situation, she ventures around the house & finally arrived at their basement. Nothing seems to be unusual until such time wandering around, she notices that one of her father's books glowing. She then saw the Clow Book.
Just like her father, she curiously grasp the book and examined it. Magically, the book automatically opened without an effort. Logically, the book contains chockfull of cards inside. Seeing the readable inscriptions written on the cards, she intends to speak Windy as stated on the card. Suddenly after that, a Gust of Wind occurs that causes the magical cards to scattered all over not only on their house, but around Tokyo.
After the commotion, a Guardian Beast pops out beneath the book and it's Keroberos, the Gurdian Beast of the seal. Sakura was amazed but startled on what's happening around. After the conversation from the two, Keroberos notices that most of the cards are missing, and only Sakura will be the no.1 suspect for this incident. Because of what Sakura has done and the one who breaks the seal, Kero-chan for short, appointed him now as the new Cardcaptor that will be responsible to retrieve all of the cards before they end up destroying the World!
That's how Sakura becomes the new Clow Mistress. Alongside with Kero, she managed to widthstands the forces of the cards. At first, she is insisting on how she gonna capture all the cards. Later, she get along the jobs which make her more confident. She then met new friends that accompany her along the way as the story goes.
